We will be celebrating all things apples and orchards. Come along to have fun and learn! Suitable for all ages.
Apple juicing: bring your apples to be juiced (don’t forget containers for the juice!)
Cooking with apples – samples and recipes
Archery – can you hit the apple?
Guided walks around the Wandlebury orchard by Orchards East, who will answer your questions about the care and maintenance of fruit trees.
Activities for children, including crafts and storytelling with well-known children's author Isabel Thomas.
Identifying fruits and nuts. Bring some fruit (apples, pears, plums, cherries or cobnuts, or even less common fruits like mulberries, quince etc ) for identification. You will need to bring 5 examples of ripe (preferably not over-ripe) fruit or nut clusters with their stalks and a small twig with some leaves - and a photograph of the tree is always helpful. For plums we need to see the stones. You can always keep fruit or nuts in a refrigerator if you think they won’t make it to the day.
Stalls and activities, including bees and beekeeping.
There is no admission charge but there is a £3 car parking fee (CPPF members free).
