The Free Urban Food Project is back!
This summer, Cambridge Sustainable Food and Earth & Mind are back again on a mission to help people overcome the barriers to accessing free food by educating around the availability and abundance of edible plants growing in urban areas and inspire ideas around how these can be upcycled into delicious products .
Join us on Saturday 9th August for a FREE guided foraging walk around Cambridge to learn about the health benefits of summer fruits and plants for our bodies and minds, and gather free surplus produce to feed our community. All the fruit we collect will be transformed into delicious products and redistributed to the social food projects CSF supports.
We’ll meet at St Philip’s Church on Mill Road for a briefing before heading out on a guided group walk lasting around 2 hours, which will focus on identifying and harvesting the delicious fruits available for free on your doorstep over the summer.
All equipment, and instructions on safe, sustainable foraging will be provided, and the walk will finish with an opportunity to sit down and enjoy some refreshments made from seasonal foraged goods.
Spaces are limited, to confirm your free spot please BOOK HERE.
All are welcome, no experience required. If you have any questions about accessibility or otherwise please contact emily@earthandmind.co.uk or alex@cambridgesustainablefood.org
