Bev Sedley, Chair
Bev chairs the CSF Partnership Board , which decides the strategic direction of CSF’s work and is a tireless campaigner for her twin passions of promoting access to sustainable and healthy food and concern for the environment, including the major contribution of our food system to the devastating effects of climate change.

Bev is also a Trustee of Cambridge Carbon Footprint.

Bev founded Lifecraft, a Cambridge mental health voluntary organisation, and ran it for its first ten years, following 20 years as a teacher.


Sam Dyer, Director & Co-ordinator
Sam is the Food Partnership Co-ordinator and Director of CSF CIC, the not-for-profit company which implements the projects recommended by the CSF Partnership Board.

She is responsible for organisational and partnership development, project management and overseeing the day-to-day work in the CSF office. She is also a Director of the Cambridge Food Hub.

Sam has worked as the City Council’s Sustainability Officer and for Cambridge Co-operative Development. She also ran her own vegan catering businesses, Curly Kale Cafe and Mouth Music.  


Gemma Birley, Project Manager
Gemma is a Project Manager with Cambridge Sustainable Food. She works closely with Sam day-to-day and develops and delivers a variety of projects, manages our business programme and works on fundraising.

Gemma is an environmental specialist with fourteen years’ experience working with the public sector organisations, businesses and non-profits.

She has a Masters degree in Environmental Policy and is a self-confessed (sustainable) foodie. You can find out more about Gemma’s background through LinkedIn.

Partnership Board

The Partnership Board is responsible for deciding the strategic direction of Cambridge Sustainable Food. It oversees the work of CSF CIC, which implements the strategy and action plan.
