Trumpington Good Food Neighbourhood

GROWING PROJECTS

  • There are two ways you can apply for an allotment in your neighbourhood. You can either apply through Cambridge City Council for a plot on one of the allotments they manage or apply for a plot which is ran by a local allotment society. Visit Cambridge Allotments Network to find your closest allotment. In Trumpington, Foster Road allotments are ran by Trumpington Allotment Society.

  • Growing Spaces is ran by Transition Cambridge, aiming to reclaim unloved and underused public spaces around the city and transform them into edible landscapes. Find out more about how to get involved in your local growing space here.

  • Trumpington Community Orchard was founded in 2007, with help from Cambridge City Council, BBC Breathing Places and the Co-Operative Bank. They are a not-for-profit organisation, run entirely by volunteers. Their project aims to improve biodiversity and habitat for wildlife and plants, maintaining a  community green space  in which to grow local food, preserve heritage apple varieties and help combat climate change.

  • Clay Farm Community Garden is Trumpington’s very own community garden, run by the community for the community.

  • Clay Farm Surgery’s ‘Gardening for Health’ group. They open plot 38 at Clay Farm Allotments to the public every Saturday 11.30am - 1pm. Anyone can turn and help.
