Cambridge Market Closure

Cambridge Sustainable Food supports all the small food producers, processors and market traders in Cambridge who have worked tirelessly to continue to supply essential food during the COVID-19 pandemic. Cambridge residents have been dismayed by the closure of the market from 1st January and have asked why the essential food stalls cannot be allowed to continue as they did during the March/April lockdown.

CSF understands the Public Health need to temporarily suspend trading in Cambridge Market (see here for more detailed explanation) and supports the market reopening as soon as possible and as soon it’s safe to do so.

Support for traders

In the meantime, we would love to publicise and promote those that are offering alternative options (e.g. home delivery) for people buying produce and essential food.

If you are a market trader offering another option, do get in touch! info@cambridgesustainablefood.org

For those traders of locally produced, processed or sourced food looking for a new outlet or route to Market then Cambridge Food Hub has an online marketplace that will link you directly to your customers. Contact the Food Hub for more info 01223 873300 or cambridgefoodhub@gmail.com
