At Cambridge Sustainable Food we urgently need to raise funds to continue our work distributing food to people who desperately need it.
It might seem hard to believe in what appears to be such a wealthy city, but many people in Cambridge are finding it difficult to make ends meet. It is vital that people are able to keep a roof over their heads - but the reality is that many will struggle to do this with competing demands for paying for rent, energy and food.
In fact 63% of respondents to a survey of people attending community food hubs in Cambridge* said that the rise in food and energy prices has made it difficult to afford food and pay bills at the same time.
With no end in sight for the cost of living crisis - and the higher food and energy prices - many people simply can’t afford to buy the food they need to feed themselves and their families.
