One month to go...
It’s the one-month countdown to the launch of #YesWeCam, the city’s campaign to become a Gold Sustainable Food City, and we couldn’t be more excited.
Food systems cause up to a third of our greenhouse gas emissions, while far too many people still lack access to healthy food. Surely we ought to transform food culture to be fairer and less destructive? That’s exactly what the Cambridge Sustainable Food Partnership and local authorities, businesses, organisations and community groups across the city are working to achieve.
How will we know we’ve succeeded? We’re aiming for a Gold Award from Sustainable Food Places - a status held by only two cities in the UK.
Launching a citywide campaign on 27th May this year, and running for 18 months, we aim to become a national leader in two areas:
Creating a robust food system that works with nature - not against it - and tackles climate change
Delivering food justice and healthy, affordable food for all
To realise this vision for an inclusive and resilient food system, the whole city needs to pull together. Can we do it? #YesWeCam
