The Lick Caribbean
“The Lick Caribbean are a Cambridge mobile caterer serving delicious West Indian Roti, vegan fillings, curries and salads.
The Lick has attained a silver award for their work supporting local food producers by making Roti using flour from Foster’s Mill, sourcing seasonal vegetables from Simon’s organic veg stall on the Cambridge Market, and sourcing peppers and tomatoes from Cambridge’s Wild Country Organics when in season.
Alongside this, The Lick provided delicious vegetarian and vegan options as well as promoting animal welfare with literature displayed on the stall. All meat used is supplied from Cambridge Quality meats and Art of Meat which sell RSPCA assured meats. No pork or beef is used only free range mutton and chicken.
75% of the Lick’s menu is organic and they serve all their delicious food in GreenGate Bio Packaging which is recyclable, biodegradable and compostable! No plastic is used on the stall which has solar power and so no noisey generators.
They said : ““Healthy West Indian food with a difference! We offer curries and stews which are made from mainly local ingredients (we aim for a 30 mile radius, except for things which can’t be sourced locally). We get as much organic produce as we can from Simon’s organic veg stall on the Sunday market in Cambridge (also very highly recommended – the veg are mostly grown near Littleport), and we buy flour from East Anglia.”
