Organisations and local initiatives have played a central role in supporting the Cambridge community over the years, notably over the Covid-19 pandemic. It has been inspiring to witness all the amazing Cambridge organisations getting involved in community food, sharing resources, skills and time to help shape a sustainable food system for all in Cambridge.
Even if you are not directly involved in food, there are many ways your organisation can help support the local community, from helping food-related projects by running fundraisers, to even getting stuck in and volunteering yourself!
The health and wellbeing of your employees is also a key way you can help the community, ensuring access to good food by providing a fair wage and encouraging healthy eating practices at work and at home.

Corporate Social Responsibility in Cambridge
Multiple organisations have got involved in supporting the city’s Covid-19 community food response. Some provided facilities for the holiday lunch provisions, such as Cambridge Regional College and Arbury Baptist Church. Others have donated food, resources and time to support the community, such as Connection Through Crafting donating handmade face coverings, Fitzwilliam college donating meals, and the Tzi Chu Foundation making donations, volunteering and running pop up drink stalls to keep food hub users warm. Many organisations have organised food collection drives, such as Bangladesh Welfare Association and OpusTeach who both donated an impressive assortment of food staples to support families across the city.
