Grow a Row in Cambridge

Last summer we asked the local community to “Grow a Row” and support our emergency response and Community Food Hubs, combating the growing food poverty during Covid-19. Growers new and old from all over Cambridge planted and donated extra crops to support those in need, from allotments, to whole streets growing herbs on their windowsill.

Emergency Food Aid Supporting Communities over COVID and Christmas

At Cambridge Sustainable Food, we are continuing to support the community, through our emergency food response and Christmas veg parcels, to spread Christmas cheer to those in need this season. More Community Fridges for Cambridge

The UK bins a staggering 9.5 million tonnes of food every year, 70% of which could have been eaten. This is equivalent to over £19 billion and 25 million tonnes of harmful greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute to climate change.

Helping to reduce that food waste is the Community Fridge movement. The concept is simple: give, take, share.
